Stallholder Guidelines

Welcome to the Balmain Village Markets! We’re excited to support local makers, foodies, and creatives in bringing life to our community. Please take a moment to review the following rules and regulations — designed to ensure a safe, fair, and enjoyable experience for all. Balmain Village Markets is a small community market operated in the heart of Balmain.

Stallholder Selection:

Due to our limited capacity, we have a restricted number of stall spaces available, and unfortunately, we cannot guarantee acceptance for all applicants.
We aim to maintain a vibrant and balanced market experience and may rotate stallholders regularly to keep things fresh and interesting for our customers.

Stall Placement:

While we do our best to accommodate stall locations are allocated by the organisers. Thank you for your interest in becoming a part of the Balmain Village Markets.

Insurance Requirements

All stallholders must hold public and product liability insurance with at least $10 million coverage per insurable event. A valid Certificate of Currency must be submitted before attending. Do not purchase insurance before you have been accepted as a stallholder.

Food Stall Requirements

To operate a food stall where food is prepared onsite, you must Hold a valid NSW Food Authority Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) Certificate. You must also be approved by Inner West Council.

Stall Cancellation Policy

No refunds or credits will be issued for cancellations made within 2 weeks of the market date. For cancellations made more than 2 weeks in advance, a 50% refund will be provided. While the market organisers work hard to advertise the event and ensure the market experience is wonderful for all our stallholders, we do not guarantee individual stallholders certainty of sales. In the event of low sales, we are not obligated to refund any portion of Stallholder participation fees, nor are we liable in any way for a participant’s poor sales performance or losses incurred. 

Weather & Refund Policy

The market operates rain or shine. Please come prepared with covers and adequate weights to secure your stall and protect products. In cases of extreme weather markets may be cancelled for safety reasons. No refunds will be issued due to voluntary absence on the day

Rubbish & Waste Policy

All stallholders are responsible for their waste and take all rubbish, packaging, and waste with you.
Bins on-site are not for stall holders.
Failure to remove your rubbish will result in a ban from future markets.
